4 Iconic Looks By Serena Williams As She Turns 37

23 time Grand Slam Winner and activist, Serena Williams is 37 years old today. The athlete along with her elder sister Venus, took the tennis world by storm and has influenced the sport by bringing more attention to it.

The mother of one who is married to Reddit Cofounder Alexis Ohanian has many caps under her belt but has remained so humble and influential that she is one of the most respected athlete worldwide.

To celebrate this icon’s birthday, we look at 4 iconic looks she has sported on and off the court.

4. Royal duties: While attending the wedding of her BFF, Meghan Markle, Serena wore a peach Versace dress and a matching fascinator that was so stunning it tried to steal our attention away from the lovely bride.

3. Denim on the court: Serena wore a denim pleated mini skirt to the 2004 US Open. The outfit combined athletic wear and streetwear and was very notable because Denim was, still is, unpopular on the court.

2. Revenge Tutu: After her famous Black Panther suit got banned by the French Tennis Association, Serena wore a black one armed tutu designed by Louis Vuitton menswear designer and Off White Creator, Virgil Abloh.

1. Black Panther suit: Serena’s look at the French Open was so iconic the French Tennis Association banned it. The futuristic, skintight jumpsuit, that prompted organizers to announce stricter dress codes was allegedly designed to help regulate Serena’s body system to avoid blood clots which the athlete suffers from. The outfit is also part of Serena’s collaboration with Nike and was designed by Louis Vuitton’s menswear designer, Virgil Abloh.
