6 Things To Do After A Break Up

A relationship coming to an end after days, months and even years of building it, having high expectations and sacrificing a lot is draining. It makes you feel lost, unworthy and unwanted. Whether you called it off or your partner did, it’s still a painful experience. A life without him may seem impossible. If you are going through this, hollup sis, here are 6 ways to help you get over it.

1. Make a physical list of reasons you are glad it’s over

You might have been very happy and fulfilled in the relationship but take a minute and look at it on the bright side. What can you do now that you couldn’t do then? When you consider some things, you would be surprised that the break up is a blessing in disguise.

2. Get rid of reminders

Get rid of anything that reminds you of him. It could be pictures, his favourite blanket, or even the gown he bought you. As long as it brings back memories, it’s no good. If you feel you don’t want to forget him completely or immediately, you could keep those reminders in a box where you can’t reach it. Keep it locked away till you can look at them without hurting.

3. Get physical

Let out all your anger and hurt over the break up. How? This could be by going to a boxing class where you can hit the punching bag and release that built in frustration. Best believe you’ll feel better and fit too.

4. Clean out your closet and go shopping

Trash out that stained t-shirt, those small shoes, that skirt that went out of fashion years ago but you still have. Create space and find your new style.
Who doesn’t like shopping? Go stopping with the girls. Find new trendy styles and old trendy styles that you can slay in. Buy new make-up items. Try different shades of lipsticks that suit you and make you feel good.

5. Take up a new hobby

It could be painting ,baking , cooking or sewing . Anything new that will gives you a new skill. Find something distracting that gives you other things to think about.

6. Fall in love with yourself all over again

This is the most important thing in getting over a break up. It is the most important love of all – Self Love.
When you wake up in the morning, walk up to your mirror, (naked or clothed, which ever your are comfortable with) look at your reflection and say to it “I love you”. When you love yourself ,the life you live reflects that love and the people around give back that love!
