Essence Celebrates LeBron James’s 16th Nike Sneaker Release With A Powerful Campaign Featuring 16 Strong Women

To celebrate American Basketball player Lebron James‘s 16th Nike release, Essence Magazine has debuted a campaign tagged ‘The Strongest’ featuring 16 women with uplifting stories, including the player’s mum, wife and daughter.

The campaign celebrates Lebron’s first exclusive women shoes designed by women at the Harlem Fashion Row.

According to Essence,

James wants to continuously use his platform to be a voice for not only the women in his life but also women everywhere. “I see you,” he says to Black women, who he believes are the strongest people in the world. “I hear you.”

In collaboration with Nike, Essence shot a series of powerfully moving images of the 16 phenomenal ladies to showcase courage, dignity, loyalty, and determination.

The ’16’ women are:

Fe Noel, Kimberly Goldson, and Undra Celeste (Harlem Fashion Row Designers)

Savannah James, Lebron James’ wife

Gloria James, Lebron James’ mother

Zhuri James, Lebron James’ daughter

Serena Williams, American professional tennis player. Ranked no. 1 in the world on several occasions.

A’Ja Wilson, 22 year old American professional basketballer

Bozoma Saint John, Chief Marketing Officer at Endeavor.

Brandice Daniel, founder and CEO of Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR)

Carl Champion, American journalist and television personality

Kheris Rogers, 10-Year-Old bullied for skin tone, started her own fashion line.

Simone Biles, American gymnast and Olympic medalist.

Chloe Arnold, tap dancer, Emmy nominated choreographer, actress, director, and producer.

Thasunda Duckett, CEO of JPMorgan Chase’s consumer bank

Lena Waithe actress, producer, and screenwriter.
