Naomi Campbell Is Advocating For An African Edition Of Vogue

During her visit to Nigeria for the just concluded ARISE Fashion Week, British supermodel, Naomi Campbell called on Vogue to set up an African edition, as should be.

In an interview with Reuters, Miss Campbell decried the almost non-existent recognition of the African fashion industry despite its strides and contributions.

“There should be a Vogue Africa,” she said. “We just had Vogue Arabia – it is the next progression. It has to be.”

“Africa has never had the opportunity to be out there and their fabrics and their materials and their designs be accepted on the global platform … it shouldn’t be that way.”

Naomi had graced the ARISE Fashion Week runway for a variety of African designers including Tiffany Amber and Lanre DaSilva Ajayi.
