Natural Hair YouTuber, Meechy Monroe Dies At 32 ????

YouTube personality, Meechy Monroe has passed away after a nearly 3 years battle with brain cancer.

Meechy, real name Tameka Marie Moore, became famous on YouTube after she started documenting her natural hair journey in 2010 and sharing video tutorials with her over 52,000 subscribers.

In 2014, the natural hair enthusiast suffered multiple strokes and was found to have aphasia, a language disorder that is caused by brain damage. A tumor was found in her brain during a surgical procedure that same year, and she was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Following her cancer diagnosis, Meechy who had shaved off all her hair and donated it to charity transformed her channel from a hair & beauty tips platform to one where she talked about her battle with cancer.

“Knowing there are other women out there facing cancer like I am, I want to do everything I can to let them know they’re not alone,” she told People Magazine in 2015.

Sadly, the 32-year-old lost the battle on June 27 at a nursing home in Westmont, Ill.
