Nigeria’s Simidele Adeagbo Becomes The First Black Woman To Participate In Skeleton At The Winter Olympics

Nothing gives us more joy than seeing women breaking boundaries so we’re beyond excited that Nigeria’s own Simidele Adeagbo is doing just that and making history.

Simidele qualified as the first black woman to be participating in the sport of Skeleton at the Winter Olympics and we couldn’t be prouder.

The athlete completed her qualifying races a few days ago finishing at third place. She’ll be heading to Pyeongchang, South Korea in February to represent Nigeria in the sport.

So far, the Skeleton and Bobsled sports are the only two competitions Nigeria will be participating in at the Winter Olympics – not too shabby for a country that doesn’t even have winter.
