Kanye West debuted his Yeezy Season 5 collection at an uncharacteristically intimate show at the ongoing New York Fashion Week.
The collection while still mirroring the homeless fashion signature of his previous ones had a few distinguishing factors. One, the singer introduced for the first time, denim to the Yeezy line. Two, he did away with the holes and distressed pattern that characterised his earlier collections. He also made a fashion history by letting a muslim model, Halima Aden walk his show wearing her hijab – perhaps a jibe at his friend President Trump’s attempted muslim ban.
The new line which has a great dose of sportswear and military influence also saw Kanye debut a new pair of Yeezy runner, which will be all the rave this year.
And while I don’t personally care for this collection which looks more fit to be worn lounging around the house than it does for walking the streets, there is no doubt it will sell out once it hits the market because well, it’s Kanye.
