Questions To Ask Before You Hire Your Wedding Photographer(s)

Walking down the aisle to the love your life is beautiful and it’s as beautiful that you can capture the moment, look back on it in the future and experience the same feeling all over again.

Now getting the person who can satisfactorily do this job is very important because once it’s over, there is no going back. If the pictures are blurry, blurry it shall remain. If they are of low quality, unprofessional, or even ugly, they will remain so. Some photographers even miss the best moments!

It’s also important to hire someone who understands what you want and can deliver. If you want to book (a) photographer(s) who will take great pictures of your wedding – which I know you do, here are questions to ask them that’d help you determine if they are right for you.

Is my wedding date available?

In the first place, find out if your wedding date is available on their schedule.

What is the deposit and total fee?

You should also know on time what they charge and how the payment is made.

Can I see your past works?

Ask to see his/her past works. This is the best way to find out if he is right for you.

Have you photographed a wedding like mine before?

You should know the photographer’s ability. A photographer can be good but not good enough for you. If it’s an outdoor wedding you want, a lavish wedding, an indoor wedding or whatever kind you are having, ask if he has done it before.

How long have you been doing this?

An inexperienced photographer isn’t the best bet. For the best result, hire a professional and not just someone you know who has a camera.

What is included in your package?

Is there any special package attached to his service?. Doe he stop working once the wedding is over or will there be a post wedding shoot? Will he make you an album? If out if he is offering any special package and what it is.

Are you the one taking the pictures or your apprentices?

Some photographers bargain with you the client but have their apprentice or assistant do the job. Find out if he/she doing doing the job or someone else. If it’s someone else find out how good the person is and if they can deliver.

What equipment do you use?

The equipment comes a long way in determining how the pictures will look. Assuming you have no knowledge about photography, research on the equipment and its ability.

How long does it take for the pictures to be ready?

Maybe brides make the mistake of not asking. Find out how long the wait will be.

What will you wear?

Funny? Well, it’s important to know what your photographer (as a matter of fact everyone you hired for the day) will wear. They should follow the dress code. It won’t look good if they don’t.
