Realness Corner With Fola Francis: LFDW Day 3 Highlights

Hey Starlites! It’s another Realness Corner with Fola Francis LFDW Edition Day 3.

I got to the venue very late, I didn’t even know I was going to go until last minute when I went through the designer’s schedule and realised “Maxivive” was showing, told myself there’s no way I’m missing his show. So I left for fashion week from a meeting I was in Ikoyi, wearing a V-neck tee, denim pants and my tassel slippers lol. When I got to the venue most of my friends were not there, because I told them I wasn’t coming. (I felt like I betrayed them).

I couldn’t see much on the street style because it was already dark by the time I got to the venue, so I’ll skip that part. I promise I won’t be late today.

The main hall wasn’t opened until past 8pm, and the show started about 20 minutes after we all got in. All together the show started 2 hours 30 mins late.

“Emmy Kasbit” opened the show with his super dope collection. Every piece were made of Aso-Oke, Suits, shorts, dresses, and skirts. I enjoyed his show.

I was there for “Maxivive” and his pieces were nothing short of my expectations. There was this particular jacket, it has three sleeves overlapping each other, that was just art! All the pieces were extra as I expected. The models faces were oiled, and they looked so high. The collection was just too woke.

Another fav for life is “Tokyo James”. Tokyo is known for making eccentric suits and blazers, and YASS he brought it last night. The male models all had big hats on and sun shades, some of the pieces were in white and black stripes, red and black, cut outs, and leathers. Pure high fashioned pieces.

Tiffany Amber was the real MVP last night. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of work that went into the production of the collection. Every piece was quintessential, the details were overwhelming. I saw Adire in silk, green plain silk with feather deets, red silk with fringes, head wraps, see through, woven waist belts, woven bags, kimonos, bell sleeves, and long tassel earrings. I was engrossed!

The LFDW production team needs to get their act together, about three different short breaks were announced, because the runways light kept flickering.

And there was Andrea Iyamah, her wedding collection was one of the best things I’ve seen so far in fashion week. The wedding dresses were pure bliss.

Mai Atafo was the last designer to show at day 3. His pieces were casual as expected, except the part where some bearded Zaddies showed up on the runway wearing the “Beard gang” shirts, it was a real eye candy show. After Mai took his bow, he showed up again with a belle in a yellow ball gown, well we didn’t know he was the one because he was wearing a beast mask, shortly after they came out, the “Beauty and the Beast” song came up and they started dancing. Dayum! It was so beautiful, it was like living a fairy tale in real life with no happy ending.???????? Then he took off the mask after dancing and kissed the lady, I dunno what that meant but, Ok! In my mind I was like, (Mai I don’t really care who you’re dating, I’m just here to see your clothes, Bye Mai)
