Armed with nothing but hope and a quiet dream to be a model someday, Amaka left her very poor family in the South-Eastern part of the country to come search for greener pastures in Lagos, Nigeria.

She became a domestic help and kept her dream alive by constantly practising her poses in front of her mirror.

Fate is finally smiling at Amaka. Celebrity photographer, Anny Robert spotted her running errands as he went visiting with a friend and knew he just had to photograph her.

Her modelling dreams became a reality when Anny Robert visited a friend meaning to drop off a birthday gift. Amaka unwittingly walked past him to her Aunt’s flat with a crate of eggs on her head, dressed down in a black vest and jeans; an idea was birthed! Anny couldn’t quite place what was so endearing about her but as he studied her profile while he knocked, he decided he wanted to take a few portrait shots of her. He asked her to come to his studio but she shyly declined stating she wasn’t allowed and had no money but he noticed the glint in her eyes. He informed his friend who in turn took on liability for Amaka and made sure she got to Anny’s studio and back. With that, the transformation began.
