Some Of The Show Stopping Outfits We Saw At The Lagos Fashion Week This Weekend

October 27-30, 2022, was another time for fashionistas across Africa to converge for the display of classy and pristine outfits as some of Africa’s foremost designers display their latest collections on the Lagos Fashion Week runway.

While the fashion week lasted, the display from the designers did not only show that they understood the assignment, but also a confirmation that street style has been top-notch. Different fashionistas were seen bridging the gap of gender with their outfits while some went above and beyond to achieve their looks.

Here are some of the show stopping outfits in the first three days at the Lagos Fashion Week themed ‘Africa: Shaping Fashion’s Future’.

The creative director of Accident Artist mixed a bit of traditional culture with futuristic clothing accessories and modern items. Stephanie wore a typical Yoruba oldies outfit paired with a jean jacket, traditional accessories and sneakers.

Denola Grey was serving back with his alter neck and trouser combo from the Orange Culture on the first day of the Lagos Fashion Week. He paired the wine outfit with platform white heels, accessories, a peaking G-string line, and glasses.

It was a denim affair for Tijesunimi at the Lagos Fashion Week with his denim look from Orange Culture. He paired the denim patchwork with futuristic sunglasses, a white Bottega Veneta Women Cassette Maxi Intreccio Cabat bag, and boots.

The lifestyle digital content creator looked anything but ordinary in his bubble top and trouser outfit combination. In the spirit of the future of African fashion at the Lagos Fashion Week this year, he partnered with Udiahgebi to design his outfit. He paired the outfit with an African punk gothic chunky choker necklace in silver and gothic punk joint knuckle full-finger claw ring.

Since the first day of the Lagos Fashion Week, Larry Hector has been slaying his outfits. The model, who is not afraid to play with colours showed up to the fashion week in an all-green extravagant ruffles suit combo. The outfit from Korede James was paired with a transparent green inner body suit with gloves and green boots designed by King Daviids.

The fashion designer’s outfit was giving Game of Thrones meets modern suits. He wore a baby pink suit set which consisted of an off-shoulder blazer with a neckline accentuated with fur. He paired the outfit with simple jewellery and black shoes.

Bola Montana’s outfit screamed beach day with her yellow tutu dress, ankle strap block high heels, handmade basket tote bag, and raffia hat with fringes that covered her face. Remove the shoes, and you are good to go to the beach, but she still slayed.

The fashionista wore a suit set from his androgynous fashion brand, Ikechukwu Nwosu. The outfit, made with shimmery silver materials, was accentuated with feathers on the wrist and shimmery boots made of the same material as the suit.
