Stand To End Rape’s Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi Is Commonwealth’s Young Person Of The Year 2019

Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi has been putting in the work and we couldn’t be prouder that she is getting the recognition she deserves.

Oluwaseun who founded Stand To End Rape Initiative, a non-profit organisation geared at providing support and advocacy for sexual violence survivors in Nigeria was honoured with the award for the work she has done with the organisation.

The 28-year-old was presented the award as well as a 5,000 Euros cash prize by the Secretary-General of Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland at an event which took place at Marlborough House, the Commonwealth Secretariat’s London headquarters.

Oluwaseun who is a survivor of sexual violence herself, has through the S.T.E.R. Initiative, continued to provide support to women, men and young people who have experienced any form of gender-based abuse.

The night also saw her win the Commonwealth Youth Award for Africa and Europe Regions.
