The Nigerian Harmattan Starter Pack

It’s that time of the year again when everyone looks like they rubbed on too much baby powder.

When the skin on your fingers peel like you’re molting.

When you can’t throw in a spontaneous kiss because chapped lips.

When feet look like something that has walked the Sahara desert.

To make your life easier this Harmattan season, you should keep these things closer than ever:

  1. Vaseline

If you don’t want to look like a ghost that came out of Nollywood, add some Vaseline to your daily beauty ritual.

PS: Some people may find extra uses for it… But that’s none of our business.

  1. Water

There’s something about this season that dehydrates you. Keep a bottle of water around to stay hydrated, or you’ll DIE…Okay just kidding.

  1. Make-Up

Hey ladies…When is the best time to wear make-up during the year? Harmattan season!!!

At this time, there is no heat, so sweat will not be an enemy of progress when you’re trying to look awesome.

Dab on that foundation like there’s no tomorrow.

But be careful not to look like a drag queen.

  1. Lip balm

Don’t wait till you’ve got lip sores before you fix it. Prevention is better than cure so it’s necessary to use a lip balm at least every 3 hours to ensure your lips keep looking sexy and sweet all season.

  1. Duvet/Jacket

If you’re one of those who use Ankara wrappers at night, we feel very sorry for you.

Now is the time to get yourself a big bad duvet that can suck in all that cold, especially if you’ve got no Bae.

When you’re out of the house, you’ll need a jacket to keep you warm and shield your clothes from dust.
