Clear out your wardrobe and prepare to upgrade it because the just concluded New York Fashion Week has set trends.
The New York Fashion Week which ended on the 12th of September saw the biggest designers and fashion houses from across the world present the Spring/Summer 2019 collection amidst pomp and themed events.
The 80s influenced last year’s outfits and this year, they are joined by the now the 90s to set the tone for the trends that will rule the rest of this year and most of next year.
Here are the top 4 trends we spotted on the runways at the New York Fashion Week.
1. Bold Colors: Every single brand had this in common. Bright Yellows and Red were very present.
The brighter the better seemed to be the subtle message most designers were passing, Brandon Maxwell had a predominantly red collection, Prabal Gurung explored what all the different colors on the color spectrum would look like when they were combined.

2. Stripes: The stripes came in different sizes and patterns: Horizontal, Vertical, Diagonal. Most of the designers didn’t follow the traditional white and black stripes, hence, the stripes came in almost every color imaginable.

3. Fringes: Fringes made a comeback last season and they are growing stronger now. In form of tassels, layered skirts and gowns. They also came in different lengths with Area actually making them floor length.

4. Patterns: Spring and Summer clothing are usually free and flowery and patterny and most collections had floral or floral inspired patterns amidst bright colors of course.
