You are wrong Daily Mail! These are not the ‘Rich Kids of Nigeria’

So the DailyMail in the UK published an article yesterday about the richest kids in Nigeria, with the headline ‘Are the rich kids of Nigeria the most outrageous yet with their lavish displays of wealth?’

Now when someone mentions ‘rich kids’, the image created is that of some of the youngest Nigerians who were born into wealth or achieved wealth at a very young age, and not just some random individual showing off his or her shoes (and cars that are not even theirs) on Instagram.

So let us break down those the Daily Mail thinks are rich kids.

E-Money

Let’s start with record label executive; Emeka Okonkwo aka E-Money.

You are so wrong! Daily Mail … Even E-Money won’t be excited seeing this article where he is labelled a ‘kid’.

According to DailyMail; ‘Emeka Okonkwo, known as E-money, is the country’s youngest billionaire through interests such as property, oil and gas and his own record label.’

Yes he has all the money and he flaunts his wealth a bit too much – but we can’t say for sure if he’s Nigeria’s youngest billionaire. Flaunting your wealth on IG doesn’t make you a billionaire.

And he shouldn’t be on a list of extremely young Nigerians who like to show off on Instagram.  E-money is no one’s kid.

Mo’Cheddah

We don’t know how Mo’Cheddah’s picture got to be in this article. And NO, she is not a rich kid.

She’s just another rapper who was signed like any other artiste in Nigeria and has since parted ways with the label…

Not much has been heard from her music wise – although she’s been making some fashion headlines and well, doing good for herself – but that doesn’t make her a rich kid.

Bayo Adewale aka Bnaira

We really can’t say for sure his claim to wealth but according to DailyMail, ‘Rapper and designer Bayo Adewale AKA Bnaira is also fond of throwing cash around at parties.’

Nigerians haven’t heard his song, and we don’t know whom he has designed but judging from his Instagram pictures, he flaunts a reputation that tells well of a rich kid.

Huddah Monroe

She’s a Kenyan socialite and not Nigerian. And even at that, she’s not as rich.

Davido

This is a bonafide ‘Nigerian Rich Kid’… Having been born into wealth and also adding a successful music career to his resume, Davido has bragging rights and deserves to be on this list.

Noble Igwe

According to the DailyMail image caption; Two men in matching suits show off the purchase of a new Mercedes vehicle.

This is Noble Igwe, a Nigerian blogger, and the founder of 360 Group. He can’t be labelled a rich kid… And the image above of him sitting on a Mercedes Benz alongside Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is from his wedding. Noble is comfortable but we can’t say he is a rich kid.

Ismaila

The owner of Mompha Bureau De Change, Lagos Island has an impressive Instagram handle, and his show offs include; cars, business class flights,, luxury homes, and more.

He can’t be on a list of very young Nigerians and definitely not a ‘Kid’.

This is Gucci Mane and not Bnaira.

And as for this red Ferrari car, this is not an image of Bnaira… This is a picture of American rapper Gucci Mane which was shared on Bnaira’s Instagram and maybe it was mistaken to be Bnaira’s.

Get your facts right, DailyMail.
