Makeup and the way it is applied is rapidly evolving and we are having a difficult time keeping up. Heck, we’re not even sure we want to.
Years back, all one needed to apply foundation on one’s face was either a brush or one’s fingers – those were the good ol’ days.
Then came the egg-shaped fluffy beauty blenders which we were convinced offered a better finishing than what we were used to – we didn’t argue because, I mean, who says no to beautiful makeup?
More recently however, we’ve been seeing some outrageously weird hacks for blending makeup – no thanks to YouTube vloggers who are constantly trying to outdo one another for views and popularity.
See some of the weirdest (and mostly gross) items that are currently being used as beauty blenders by overzealous makeup enthusiasts below.
- Silicone bra inserts – apparently they’re the best things ever. They supposedly give you the best coverage without wasting your foundation.

- Electric Bulb – now you don’t have to throw them away when they stop working.
- Sanitary pad – sigh!
- Condoms – you just might be seeing a lot of them in your girlfriend’s handbag but not to worry, she’s not cheating with a man. It’s just her beauty blender wearing them.
- And just when we thought we’ve seen it all, this one girl decided to use her boyfriend’s balls to blend her foundation!
