We all loved the gorgeous blue outfit wore for her Kamu earlier today and we love it even more because of what it symbolises for the first daughter.
In a post she shared on her Instagram today, the new bride explained why she chose the blue outfit designed by Huddaya for the ceremony.
She wrote,
“I respect tradition, it is what makes us unique.. For my kamu I insisted on wearing the rich blue traditional Fulani fabric that was worn by generations before us and @hudayya delivered! MUA @mamzabeauty.. @bighstudios . I am proudly #fulani #fulanibride #zahmed2016 #Alhamdulillah”
The Kamu which literally means “catch” is an Hausa/Fulani wedding tradition that dates back decades. The ceremony allows the groom’s family to finally meet and acknowledge the bride as their son’s future wife.
