Ronke Raji‘s latest vlog features YouTube personality and burn survivor, Shalom Blac.
In the video which serves as both a makeup tutorial and inspirational video, Shalom opens up on getting burnt at the age of 9 and being flown to the United States to get a surgery with the hope that all her scars will be taken off but it didn’t work out that way.
She went through school being bullied by other children who would call her ‘scarface’ and all sorts of horrible name which made her contemplate suicide at some point.
But Shalom eventually learned to embrace her scars and love herself and she’s hoping her story will be an encouragement to everyone to “be your own kind of beautiful”.
