MAC Announces Collaboration With Aaliyah On The 16th Anniversary Of Her Death

Aaliyah might be here no more but her legacy sure lives on.

16 years after she passed away in an ill-fated plane crash, MAC Cosmetics has announced a collaboration with the singer which they’re calling, MAC Aaliyah collection.

Fans of the late singer who was an ardent MAC fan, had started a petition two years ago on Change.Org to get the cosmetics giant to honour her with a collection.

26,000 supporters later, the dream has become a reality. MAC announced on Instagram that the collaboration is indeed happening and that the collection will be released in 2018.

“Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all. Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the MAC Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018. #AaliyahforMAC,” they wrote.
