Realness Corner with Fola Francis: LFDW 2017 Finale

Hey Starlites! I’m here again with the tea on the finale of LFDW 2017.

This year’s Fashion week has been so much fun for me. I got to the venue around 5PM on Saturday to make it in time for Bonang’s interview, and I did, even though she kept us waiting a while, but it was worth it. Learnt lotta tips and strategies on how to monetise your image as a brand from her.

Bonang Matheba arrived late but her interview session was totally worth it!

After the interview, I went straight for the street style because my ensemble was lit and I wanted to show it off. I was wearing a puncho, a metallic gold pants from Mango, Vintage shoes from retro fire, a beret and Sun shades.

The show started about an hour late. The hall was packed and filled up, lot of people ended up standing. All the designers that showed on the finale were all top dogs. But I’ve narrowed down two of my fav from the fashion show.

Onalaja

Onalaja is one designer I respect so much and yes, she didn’t disappoint me. Some of her pieces were visions in white, there were see throughs, feather deets, embellishments, fringes, bell sleeves, off shoulders, flared skirts, Latex bustier and skirt. Fabrics used were Chiffon, silk satin, Swarovski lace, and plain fabrics. The pieces were in different shades of white, black and grey, one word “Perfection”.

My second fav and last from the finale was “Gert Johan Coetzee”. Once you see the S.A designer’s pieces, to be very honest it starts giving you fantasies. The pieces he showed were so dreamy. And the fabrics, Gosh! I was obsessed. There were feathers, sparkles, ruffles, and sheer, displayed in peach, black, majestic gold, champagne gold, and white. If I could give his collection a theme, it would be “Dreamy Couture”.

Gert-Johan Coetzee

So those were my favourite from the final. I couldn’t wait till the end of the show not to talk about the after party, because I had church the following day, I’m low-key a good boy.

Hope you had a great read!
