Fashion is not always sane, and the red eye shadow is the most insane trend we’ve seen this year.
While attempting to replicate the look might most likely leave you looking like a demon out of hell, there are still ways you can infuse the style into your everyday look.
And trust us, people won’t run when they see you coming…
1. Remember that not all shades of red are the same. Rusty reds, warm plums, and saturated crimsons naturally suit darker skin tones, so choose a shade best suited to your skin.
2. Never mind what you see on the stars, you’re not them. For a sane look, apply your red eye shadow on either the top or the bottom lid, but never on both.
3. Don’t be scared to add another colour to the mix. A black or dark plum shadow artfully applied in the inner or outer corner of the eye adds depth to the look.
Red eye makeup is bold, and if you’re going to wear a matte colour, make sure it has a high pigment and will really pop.
Good luck!
