Ways To Get Rid Of Those Annoying Period Pimples

‘That time of the month’ for some women comes pain and stress free with the flow of blood the only thing that indicates they are actually on their period. If anything, they even glow and become more beautiful. Don’t I envy them? For the category where I fall in, it’s characterized with uneasiness, stomach cramps, constant ‘hellos’ to the toilet, tender breasts, mood swings and annoyingly pimples. Ugh! Anything but my face, pleeeezzzz. *rolls eyes*

If you have this problem too and want to get rid of that roughness and acne on your face when you are menstruating, I bring you the light. Here is what works for me:

  1. Eat Healthy. It isn’t that complicated, give your body what it needs – a balanced diet. That way you will have a great skin with less pimples.
  2. Wash your face morning and night with a mild cleanser, nothing hash. If your skin is oily, wash more often as your skin gets extra oily during your period. Regularly washing your face keeps oil secretions at bay.
  3. Stay away from stress. Pimples erupt during these times because of the hormonal imbalance that goes with your menstrual period. A particular hormone, androgen is released in higher amounts which in turn triggers more oil secretions in your skin. Controlling your stress levels can prevent the further release of androgen and therefore decrease the chances of having acne eruptions.
  4. Water! Hydrate yourself as often as you can. Water flushes toxins from your skin through sweat and will help in keeping it moisturized and protected. To flush toxins from your skin through your pores and keep your skin moisturized, protected and pimple free, drink water – a lot.
  5. Use oil-free products on your face. Use makeup and cream aren’t harsh.
  6. Foods that trigger allergies may aggravate pimple eruptions even more. Stay away from them.
