A few months ago, Kizz Daniel put up a video to declare that he has quit smoking for the sake of his kids and those who genuinely love him. To encourage other young Nigerians to come out of their addiction, there’s the need for more awareness and sensitization on the dangers of substance abuse and imminent solutions.

Through the 2022 Anti-Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP)MTN Foundation in partnership with UNODC and NDLEA is organising an anti-drug abuse advocacy walk to enlighten Nigerians on substance abuse.

As much as it’s crucial to join the walk, it’s also essential to dress the part. Dressing comfortably while not declining in style is another way to add colour to the campaign. It gives the ‘who is that?’ and ‘what are they talking about?’ effect – an effect needed to propagate the anti-substance abuse message.

Here are ten outfit ideas you can rock to an anti-drug abuse advocacy walk.

1. Cargo Pants
Cargo Pants are one of the most comfortable fashion items ever. Paired with any top of your choice, it would make a perfect outfit for an advocacy walk.

However, considering Nigeria’s warm weather, it’s advisable to wear light materials and consider sleeveless or crop shirts/tops as an option.

2. Baggy Jeans
If you’re not into Cargo pants, baggy Jeans are also very suitable options. Pairing your Baggy Jean’s with a shirt or tees would also do the trick.

3. Midi Dresses
One amazing thing about Midi Dresses is that they are perfect for every occasion. They are stylish and comfortable clothing items. For an advocacy walk, a midi dress paired with boots or sneakers would be perfect as you prepare for the 8 KM walk with other passionate anti-drug abuse advocates.

4. Blazers on Biker Shorts
It’s not out of place to want to look dressy during an advocacy walk. Blazers on Biker Short is the perfect in-between; you’re comfortable and ready for the long-distance while looking semi-formal, simple but elegant.

5. Tracksuits
Tracksuits are the ultimate sporty outfit. They are comfortable yet stylish, depending on how you rock them.

6. Shirt Dresses
Another perfect middle ground between sporty and dressy is shirt dresses. They are usually free, giving room for movement while being stylish.

7. Flared Pants
Skinny Jeans are not the most comfortable set of Jeans for walks but flared pants work perfectly. With any top of your choice, you can show up in style.

8. Jumpsuits
Instead of wearing pants and searching for a cool top to go with it, jumpsuits are a perfect balance. They’ll give you room to walk freely while looking responsible enough for an advocacy walk.

9. Jean Shorts/Regular Shorts with Dressy Tops
Knee-length jean shorts and dressy tops or tees are also perfect for advocacy walks, especially for short enthusiasts.

10. Sundresses
Sundresses are perfect for every occasion. For an advocacy walk, you should prioritise your comfort and ensure your sundress is not tight-fitting and allows you move freely.

All these outfit ideas can be worn to the ASAP anti drug abuse advocacy walk happening on Saturday, June 25, 2022 starting from Old Parade Ground to Millennium Park, Abuja. One important thing about dressing for advocacy walks is that they have to be comfortable clothing items that you can breathe and walk-in for the 8KM walk. Shoes like Boots, sneakers, loafers and the rest are also advisable fashion items for walks.
