Ok, I know I owe a everyone a bumper apology…I am genuinely sorry from the bottom of my heart but I know that’s not what you guys care about…here is what you missed.

The later part of December was sort of a blur from Trey songz in Nigeria to Christmas to Olamide in Concert to Copa Lagos and Farida’s wedding……..

Yes you heard that right!! FARIDA got married; let me not jump to the end of the gist.

Mr A became a recurring fixture at my office the last week I had there from fancy lunches to weekend getaways…I am surprised I haven’t gotten pregnant yet….before you crucify me I didn’t start having sex with Mr A a week after we met but it eventually happened, I will get to that.

I am pretty sure my ladies are very familiar with the ‘yoruba demon” thing going around. Let me be the latest person to confirm that allegation is as true as it gets. Remember the hottie from the Spanish vacation….Tunde Allen…..yes him….we bumped into each other in the elevator on my first day at work at the new office, apparently we share the same office building…could my day get any worse….broke the heel of my very expensive shoes and now him????

I had to hurriedly agree to hang out with him as he started to cause a scene again in the elevator and I wasn’t ready to let my boss bump into all that drama on my first day. He cancelled on me as anticipated but asked me to come by his place as he wanted to show me a new design he was working on…he is an architect…don’t even know why I went, maybe I just needed closure.

I got to his place and his penthouse apartment in Ikoyi was all  covered in tarp and the smell of paint filled the air

‘What is going on here?”

“I decided that this place needed a little Feng Shui, I am taking down that wall and painting over the rest”

“Ok Mr Handyman, where is the design??”

“Which design?”

“Em…why did I come here??”

“Oh yeah that……some foreign developers are coming into the country and they reached out to me help them design luxury condos for the Lagos coastline?”

“Sounds fancy….and looks fancy too….well done, but I don’t see why you needed my help, you just wanted someone to be your cheerleader …..great job!!!…Can I go now??”

“Haba….you are still as stubborn as ever…I really do need your input on some detailing and I know you have a good eye for those things”

“ yeah yeah…..since I am here can I see the famous view from your rooftop?”

“ Absolutely”

We get up there and the roof top is laid out with candles, roses, wine….the works…

rooftop image

“Expecting someone?”

“You”

“Goodbye Tunde”

“ Tonye I am sorry”

“ There we go again, you kneel and beg every single time”. At what point was it too hard for you to mention that you were married with KIDS!!!!

He latches unto my leg as I attempt to walk away…….

He gets up and faces me, “Tonye I am really sorry”….I had never felt that way about anyone before and everthing just happened so fast

“You can say that again”

I loved you and I still love you…he goes in for a kiss

“ Tunde!!! Let go of me, you are hurting me”

After about 2 minutes of struggling, I finally give in to his embrace and his oh so soft lips, I almost forgot that feeling I get when our lips meet….shock waves straight to my leg…

“ I missed this…..”

“ Who wouldn’t?”

“ You are just too proud”

As I lay on the floor with the table cloth wrapped around my chest….I just had sex with Tunde Allen and it felt gooooooddd!!!!

Good enough to make me go back to his drama??

Oh snap!!!”I have to go, I have to pick my mum up from the airport”

“You can wait…..”

“Don’t even get me started”……I don’t think I have ever been more proud to do the walk of shame because I knew this wasn’t see you later, it was goodbye

********************************************************************************

Fast-forward to one week later, I was just settling into my new Job as an A&R exec. (I am gonna be calling myself that a lot …so get used to it), my phone rings and its Farida

“I am getting marrrieeedddd!!!!”

“Excuse me!!???”

“ I said I am getting married….don’t be such a jealous friend…be happy for me na”

“Are you being serious?? Where are you???? Its lunch break anyways…I am coming now”

A thousand and one things were running through my mind as I drove ‘fast and furious style’ to Hard Rock Café

hard rock cafe lagos

“Is she serious??? Marriage???? How?? From where??”

Just so we are on the same page and to put the story in perspective, let me take you on a journey down memory lane…

Once upon a time in a small town called Dara in Kano state, a baby was born to a 12 year old girl who got pregnant by her father’s 36 year old friend (trust me the sex wasn’t consensual – she was raped), the inability of a little girl to raise a child caused the baby to be sent to her grandmother in Benue state. The baby grew up to become a beautiful little girl, at age 4 she had her first sexual experience; her neighbour an almost forty-year-old man raped her. In the Nigeria and Africa we live in most child rape or molestation cases are either not discussed or swept under the rug.

The molestation continued on for years; 11 to be exact. First her neighbor, then her cousins, their friends, “uncles in the area” the list was endless…how do you explain how a 15 year old girl had been penetrated by over 50 men in her very short lifetime????

At age 16, she made the decision to run away to Lagos for a better life. Her grandmother was old and dying anyways and her parents pretty much didn’t care about her since she was born…she was in the world alone.

It was another cool windy evening in Ikoyi, she was heading home from another hectic day of job hunting…there were not too many positions available for a secondary school drop out…The little girl had grow into a woman now….”coke bottle body and all”, jet black hair, liquid brown eyes, cocoa skin…a modern day Iman…..

“Hello “

“Hi”

“Where are you going??”

“Home”

“Where is that? Let me drop you off”

“Never mind…Thanks.”

The car refused to stop and kept driving alongside her with all the cars honking in the background

“ Come on, its already getting late…Its not safe out here on the streets”

“ Thanks, I know….I”ll be fine”

“ I am Tobe but all my friends call me King”

“ Good for you”

“ C’mon please just get in, I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving you here”

“For God sakes please just leave me alone”

He parks and comes out of the car, goes down on his knees and starts crying and shouting….Please!! Please!!!!

“ Hey Mr. !! Please get up, people are staring and not all faces are friendly, it’s too late for all this drama, please get up!!!”

“ I wouldn’t unless you allow me drop you off”

“Ok! OK!  If that will make you stop”

The next day was a Saturday and her plan was to go and take up the only job offer she had gotten; cleaning homes. It was providing her with feeding, accommodation and definitely security…. a young girl living out of a corridor of a “face me I face you” in a remote location in Lagos Island wasn’t the life.

“Aunty!! Aunty!!

The landlady’s niece wakes her up from one of her many numerous dreams of a better future.

“ Ehn!!! Kilode???? “

She had taken up basic Yoruba since she moved to Lagos

“ One big man dey find you for outside”

“Me??”

“Yes na aunty, he tall, fine and the car big well well”

“How many times will I tell you to speak in proper English”

“Sorry aunty”

Go and tell him I am coming…..”Tomato Jos!!!”

That was her nickname, she was so little yet so beautiiful…almost like an angel came to earth in human form….”I pray nobody steals away her innocence.”

She takes a quick bath and heads out, she is supposed to meet up the agent taking her to the house she is going to clean…she was asked to bring her things with her as would be living at the house.

“Am sor…..Its even you”

“ What about me??? Expecting someone else?”

“ As a matter of fact, Yes!!”

“The person would have to wait, I am taking you out…you can throw your bag in the back”

“No oh!!! The person is supposed to give me a job and unless you have a better offer for me….GOODBYE!”

“ As a matter of fact, I do….Get in!!! Now!!! You will make me have to carry you”

She reluctantly gets in

“Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise”

“I don’t like surprises”

“Trust me, you’ll like this one”

“ Like I said yesterday, My name is Tobe…. everyone calls me King. I am from Anambra state, I have three brothers and a sister, I am 24, I work with shell…. so tell me about yourself”

“There is nothing to tell”

“C’mon….I am not a kidnapper or killer”

“That’s what they all say”

“All???

“Never mind”

“Here we are”

A picnic was laid out in one of the most beautiful places she had ever been…

The story of that little girl’s life is more than enough to be written in a book or made into one of those Lifetime movies….

That little girl is Farida Ali, my best friend

She and Tobe became inseparable after that day, he sent her to school in the US which is where we met, they have a kid together; Tobenna(Jnr.)

About 5 years ago, Tobe told his parents he wanted to marry her and of course he told them her history…. his loving parents became monsters overnight…. no son of theirs was going to marry a victim of mass rape and molestation (like someone chooses or prays to be molested).

He ended up marrying someone else; one of their elitist friends children and we heard she left him for the Yoga instructor….

********************************************************************************

“Babe!!! Finally! we have a wedding to plan”

“ Don’t mean to sound like a Debby downer but you know I am your friend and I always want the best for you….Marriage how?’

“I know I should have told you but I wanted to be sure myself, Tobe asked me to marry him”

She shows me the most beautiful ring I have ever seen

Screenshot 2016-01-19 15.02.26

“Wowzer!!!! Congratulllllaaatttiiooonnnsss!!!! I almost screamed down the whole building”

“ I know I should have told you when we reconnected, I never stopped loving him plus he is Tobenna’s father”

“What about his parents??? Are they ok with it now?”

“ His mum was the one that called me to say how miserable her son had been since we separated, she begged and apologized for her actions…let’s just say she was the catalyst”

“I am so happy for you, so lets get to planning…when is the wedding? How many guests are we expecting?”

“About that….em….the wedding is next week!!”

“Next what???????!!!!!!!”

“We don’t want to spend one more day apart”

“SMH!! Be acting like two young people in love…. After a kid”

The only issue at hand now is how to tell my mum the true story about Farida, you know how you have a friend you want to invite home but you know if you tell the true story she might never let them come over…plus when you are young, you do and say a lot of stupid stuff and the story just sticks…. pray with me…she is going to eat my head for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

********************************************************************************

After Farida’s fairytale wedding, Mr. A whisked me away to a very restful holiday in Bora Bora…I was waking up to a breath taking view every morning, breakfast in bed….the works.

bora bora

All this time, we never had sex…. a few kisses here and there but nothing major.

We went out for a late dinner and you know my fashion game was tight rocking this Rayo dress from LFDW sans the bead veil….

rayo

I think it must have been the Lobster we had because we were like two animals on heat…it started with gentle kisses on my neck while dancing to Maxwell’s “This Woman’s work” on the balcony…. his hands gently going down my back, I could feel him getting hard, all the blood flowing to my head….I think because we waited for this moment all our senses were heightened.

He lifted me off the floor and pinned me against the wall…all that time working out with Uzi payed off…in less than 2 seconds my dress was on the floor…it took me over 5 minutes to wear because of the complicated neckline and it took him just 2 freaking seconds to take it off…….

I was standing there with just panties and the look in his eyes…he already had me…he started from gently kissing my neck all the way down and he didn’t stop till my heart was beating so fast and he could hear me moan softly and gently…he lifted me off the floor unto his shoulders to continue on the bed…first it was two fingers, then three and then I  felt his member inside of me…..I let out a mid-tone moan while my fingers were dug deep into his back….

Tunde Allen has got nothing on him……..

Tonye! Tonye!! Tonye!!!

“Yes….’ I slam the laptop shut

My boss almost caught me giving you details of my sexcapades.

“They are ready for the meeting”

“I’ll be right there”

I am Tonye Oluwasegun Hamilton and my big city is Lagos………..
