Have you ever had a really close friend, and then after she got married, things got awkward because you were still single? Of course, almost every single girl has that one friend.

1. No. I’m not trying to steal your husband – Your married friend might never actually say it, but she’s always mentally scrutinising every look, word, or gesture  between you and her husband. But the truth is, her husband might not even be your type, might be too ugly for you, might even disgust you, but you just try to be nice.

2. My future is not bleak, sad and lonely – It will feel so good to be able to tell your married friend that being married does not guarantee her a long happy life, and neither does being single mean you’ll be lonely sad and miserable. There are really no guarantees in life, marriage is not passport to heaven.

oopsy3. Just because I’m single doesn’t mean I’m desperate and will date anybody – Hello, being single doesn’t mean I’m desperate and I should lower my standards and date just anyone, or anything…please!

Being single doesn’t mean I have lesser problems or responsibilities – You know how your  married friends tell you you’re lucky every time they nag about their responsibilities, like being single means that you get everything done for you and you automatically have no worries.

yinmu5. Girl please, you ain’t no better than the rest of us – this tops the list by far. You know how after your wild friend gets married and she automatically becomes born-again, and now accompanies every advice (judgement) with a bible verse? Well…excuse me, we know that Jesus saves, but stop with the holier than thou attitude.
