A Night of Elegance: The Macallan Hosts Exclusive Dinner At Flowershop Cafe

The spotlight at a recent whisky pairing event in Lagos was on The Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica. The tasting session was co-hosted by the renowned premium single-malt Scotch whisky and Flowershop Cafe, a high-end flower shop and cafe nestled on Akin Adesola Street in Victoria Island.

This immersive experience unfolded on Thursday, November 9, 2023, showcasing the unique qualities of the Harmony collection.

The evening kicked off with expertly crafted cocktails complemented by a selection of delicious canapés from the cafe. Guests then experienced the coffee-infused whisky collection, culminating in a pairing ritual led by The Macallan’s Brand Ambassador for Lagos, Daniel Atteh, and the cafe’s lead barista Cedric Mensah. The event was a revelation of the intricate dance of flavours when whisky and coffee intertwine.

The private dinner drew a gathering of 30 high-end guests, including business executives Chimeze George Obi, Abubakar Bakari, Uche Ogboi, Omolara Adewumi, and Rasheed Yusuf — among others, who savoured the smooth coffee-inspired whisky.

The collection, which was recently launched in Nigeria in July 2023 is inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica bean and boasts of a distinct coffee flavour with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and sweet oak. The whisky offers flavours of sweet oak, tiramisu, and dark chocolate, providing a delightful whisky and coffee pairing experience.

As the event peaked, it evolved into an unforgettable multi-sensory experience, leaving guests with a profound appreciation for the exceptional craftsmanship showcased.
