The theme for the Wakanda Forever African premiere was Afro-futuristic, but we cannot help but wonder what these celebrities wore to the carpet as they missed the whole point of the theme.
From the lack of attention to detail to certain personalities showing up like they came for a movie night. Here are some looks at the premiere held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, that were not on theme.
Erica Nlewedim
Erica looked cute for a movie night at the cinemas, but not for an African premiere of one of the biggest Marvel movies of all time. The actress showed up in a short flowery off-shoulder pink dress paired with gold heels and simple jewellery.
Idia Aisien
Idia looked stunning as usual, but she was not on theme. This outfit by Toju Foyeh would have been perfect for a wedding or a red carpet for a movie premiere that was not themed Afro-futurism. She showed them who we were in style but not in detail.
Tacha
The only Afro-futuristic related thing about Tacha’s look was her hairstyle – she made beaded Bantu knots -asides from that, it seemed like a regular event look. The reality star, styled by Medlin Boss, had on an all-white blazer with studded glasses, simple jewellery, and a white purse.
Ayoola Ayolola
Like a regular Yoruba man, he wore an all-black agbada outfit with red beads and a hat for the premiere. It doesn’t mean he didn’t slay the look, but what exactly is futuristic about this outfit?
AY The Comedian
Considering he was going for two events in one night, this outfit should have gotten a pass, but the outfit is still off-putting regardless of the event. The comedian, who wore an all-white tuxedo set from Jax Greham, paired his outfit with gold jewellery and black shoes with brown soles.
Which of these outfits would you give a pass based on the theme?
