Frank Ocean Wins $14.5million Defamation Suit Filed By His Father

Frank Ocean has won a $14.5million defamation suit that his father, Calvin Cooksey, filed against him earlier this year.

According to TMZ, his father didn’t provide enough evidence of the defamation, the alleged evidence was a Frank’s Tumblr Post in 2016 that described his father using a gay slur when Frank was a child.

“That was the last afternoon I saw my father and the first time I heard that word, I think, although it wouldn’t shock me if it wasn’t,” Frank wrote.

His father claimed the post cost him “future opportunities” and he was seeking $145million in damages.

In a statement Frank’s lawyer said “It was a super sad case, I am sorry that my client had to go through this and am glad that we could bring closure.”
