From Bottega To Valentino: Introducing The RHOLagos Luxury Handbag Collection

As RHOLagos hit the screens in October 2023, we were struck with a wave of luxury choices that solidified the ladies’ unwavering affinity for luxury. In the previous season, Chioma had worn a $6,500 Dior outfit for a brief outing with the ladies, and we expected nothing less in the new season. Nine episodes in, we can indeed say the ladies have delivered as their collections show that they’ve carefully curated outfits that showcase the best of African craftsmanship and fashion in general.

Beyond their love for African styles and accessories, their handbag collections have come to represent their view of luxury and style as they’ve been spotted in bags from world-renowned designers.

In episode one, when we got a glimpse of Chioma Ikokwu at her establishment, Brass and Copper, where she was meeting an architect to help her renovate the space, in true Chioma fashion, she wore a piece from the Valentino Garavani collection. However, the star of the party was the £2,350 sculpture’s small shoulder bag. The canvas blended bag branded with jacquard design is a part of Valentino Garavani’s SS23 collection, which reinterprets the brand’s VLogo signature while channelling the 70s style with unique details.

But this wasn’t the first time one of the housewives had rocked an iconic handbag. Faith Morey had done the same in episode three during her co-hosting duties with Dr Rommel for their Botox Party. Faith had paired a short dress designed by Ann Usman with the $440 Cult Gaia Bess rhinestone-embellished acrylic shoulder bag. In the same scene, Mariam Timmer matched her style with the $1,500 Gucci Sylvie Leather Mini Chain Bag. The mini structured Sylvie bag stands out for its gold-toned chain and buckle, which sits atop classic leather.

Meanwhile, in episode nine, Chioma was spotted in back-to-back Hermes Birkins. For her visit to the Ooni of Ife’s palace organised by Toyin Lawani-Adebayo, she wore bubu pieces from Wanni Fuga and paired them with the $21,000 Hermes Birkin 30 Jaune Ambre Togo Palladium Hardware. For her second look, she was spotted in the Banke Kuku ensemble, which was elevated with the $30,000 Hermes Kelly 25 Leather Handbag.

Chioma has always had an affinity for luxurious pieces, so when she was spotted with contemporary hand luggages, from the Coperni Metallic Swipe bag to the Brandon Blackwood Mini Kendrick Trunk, it was no surprise. The same goes for Faith Morey, who, like Chioma prides herself in owning luxury pieces. From the $5,500 Bottega Veneta Chain Cassette bag to the Dionne Crowe shoulder bag, every piece reflected her love for luxury. The same goes for each of the women on the cast of RHOLagos.
