Black artistes glowed with stunning outfits at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles as they showed up to the Oscars. The 94th Academy Awards ceremony presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honoured the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021. The ceremony, hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes is graced with the best of talents in Hollywood. As many black stars stormed the prestigious event, they were adorned in regalia that showcased their finesse.
Lupita Nyong’o, a befitting actress, gilded herself with gems inspired by light and the beauty of nature at the star-studded event. She effortlessly rocked a gold Prada gown, De Beers: “The Light Rays Crown ring from the ‘Alchemist of Light’ collection. Styled by Micaela Erlanger, Lupita paired her stunning gold dress with a pop of pink and yellow diamond earrings and a statement ring from the ‘Reflections of Nature’ collection. The fashion icon also wore her braids up in a fabulous bun and used minimal makeup as she allowed her stunning gold fringe dress shine through her South African beauty.
Halle Bailey arrived at her official Oscar debut in a gorgeous teal dress. The talented singer, who is one of the show’s presenters, dazzled in a bright teal single-strap gown featuring a side cutout and wrap-style skirt with a thigh-high slit. Halley wore her signature hair updo with a dangling diamond earring. She also wore a matching teal show to give her outfit a perfect look. During the ceremony, Halle presented the Best Animated Feature Film (Encanto) award.
Demi Singleton glowed in a breathtaking lilac gown on the red carpet at the Oscars 2022. The talented ‘King Richard’ actress showcased great style as she wore Miu Miu to the occasion. The strapless dress featured stunning details at the top with an ombre effect. Demi paired the gorgeous look with a ponytail, a simple drop earring, and a silver shoe. The beautiful black actress beamed at the event with minimal makeup.
Saniyya Sidney also graced the event in a dreamy, silk, colourful strapless gown embroidered with multicoloured paillettes from the fashion powerhouse Giorgio Armani. The young actress dazzled in the elegant and timeless dress as she wore her hair in an updo with a fringe.
Saniyya played young Venus Williams in the Oscar-nominated King Richard. Her co-stars, Will Smith, and Aunjanue Ellis earned the best actor and best-supporting actress respectively.
The Oscars 2022 was the first ceremony since the 83rd Academy Awards in 2011 to feature multiple hosts; however, as usual, it served the best of fashion looks.
