Galentine’s Day party for you and your clique

First, we have to give special thanks to the creators of the show ‘Parks and Recreation’ for creating a holiday to honour female friendships. In episode 16, Season 2, titled “Galentine’s Day”, the character, Leslie Knope, is seen preparing for the 13th of February as the day to gather her female friends for a ladies night, give them gifts and tell them she loves them. Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, explained the day while planning her annual bash for her female friends.
“What’s Galentine’s Day? It’s only the best day of the year,” Knope says during the 16th episode of the show’s second series. “Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”

Personally, I don’t mind another excuse to hang out with my small group of female friends. A party to enjoy and unwind with your girls before couples take over the world for the next few days is something I look forward to.
