Jennifer Lopez has always been daring with her personal style. Remember her famous green Versace dress which sent everyone into a frenzy as she graced the red carpet of the 2000 Grammy awards in it?
It’s nearly 2 decades later and the actress/singer/dancer/mummy is still not afraid to show a LOT of skin.
As she graces the cover of the latest edition of InStyle Magazine, the 49-year-old lives very little to the imagination in one of the images wearing a green Haute Couture cape by Valentino.
Speaking to the magazine about body confidence in the accompanying interview, J.Lo says she never really thought much about body image because where she comes from, being curvy has always been celebrated.
“I didn’t realize what I was doing — I was just being myself,” she says. “In my family, curves were glorified and part of the culture. It was just like, ‘Jennifer has a big butt, and it’s good.’ ”
She also spoke on sexism in the industryand the double standards with which women who are multihyphenate performers are treated. “I don’t understand why you can’t be an actress and a singer and dancer as well,” Lopez says. “Like, that’s how this whole business started. Entertainment! And why can’t you be funny and also be a dramatic actress? OK, some people can’t do both. But if they can, let them!”
Speaking on her work ethics and the reason she still works as hard she said, “When I first started, it was always a matter of ‘Am I good? Am I good enough? Do I need to be better? What can I do to be better?’ Now I know I’m really good at this. So I just want to do it.”
