Nigeria’s Alice Oluwafemiayo Sets World Record In Mexico

Alice Oluwafemiayo representing Nigeria at the World Para Powerlifting Championships in Mexico smashed the women 85kg record on the first day of the competition. – December 2,2017.

Oluwafemiayo emerged winner by clearing the bar at 140kg, then went ahead to lifting 145kg in her fourth attempt to break the world record of 144kg – a record set by Loveline Obiji in 2014.

Expressing her joy at the feat, the champion said, “I feel very happy, it was not something I was expecting.”

This is indeed a big one for the sports community and Nigeria at large.
