The AMVCA8 grand finale took place last night with more than its fair share of sequins, sparkles, and tuxedos amid splashes of colours as creatives from different parts of Africa descended at the Eko Hotel and Suites for one of the continent’s biggest awards and invariably, fashion nights.
With a duo of impeccably dressed hosts such as Bonang Matheba and IK Osadiokuwa, fashion at the Awards show was at its peak.
Follow through as we highlight some of the best looks from the night’s hosts.
Bonang Matheba
For her first look of the night, the South African wore a pink feathered and corseted dress by Sheye Oladejo. She was a vision to behold in the sequined mermaid-style pink dress, with its corseted midriff, long feathered sleeves and neckline. She paired the look with silver accessories, a long, sleek weave, and calm nude makeup.
For her second look, she took on a metallic blue gown. Designed by House of Dova, the dress featured a puff sleeve, a sash around the waist, a thigh-high slit and a flared train. The media personality topped the look with a blue neckpiece and strappy heels.
For her final look, Bonang looked sensational in a bright 2207 by Tbally orange dress with a corseted top. She paired the bright look with matching gloves, diamond pieces and nude makeup.
IK Osadiokuwa
The Nigerian media personality started the evening in a powder pink suit, white shirt and the biggest smile for the red carpet. He paired the look with a black bow tie, shoes and wristwatch.
For his second look, the TV host once again shed the traditional black tux and donned a wine suit with a white shirt. He finished the fit with a wine bow tie, black shoes and a black wristwatch.
For his last look, IK continued to avoid the typical black suit and went all the way left in metallic gold and black blazer with black trousers and a black shirt. His look perfectly complimented his co-star as they brought the show to an end with the announcement of D’banj’s performance.
The pair led the 8-day lineup of festivities to an end in the most fashionable way possible. The award ceremony held last night at the Eko Hotels and Suites and was the perfect way to round up a week filled with events.
