#AMVCA8: A Detailed Look Into Denola Grey’s Award-Winning Outfit By Mai Atafo And Tjwho

Denola Grey has again won the prize for the Best Dressed Male at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, and everyone can attest to the fact that the right person won.

The fashion stylist and influencer is ten times ahead of most men in the fashion industry, and it’s in his refusal to wear boring clothing items in an attempt to conform to society or to be seen as manly.

During his acceptance speech at the AMVCAs, he said, ‘stop limiting yourselves, men.’ Like Denola, other men have started ditching their regular black suits and have started playing with colours, blings, crop blazers, flared pants, flowery materials and net.

Basically, they’ve all not limited themself to the classic black, navy blue and grey suits with glitters or shimmers. Personalities like Akin Faminu, Neo Akpofure, and Daniel Etim-Effiong.

For the eighth edition of the AMVCAs Denola Grey wore a custom made piece by renowned fashion designer Mai Atafo. A look that Denola claims took only two days.

‘Guys this was a real labour of love! We only started designing this look last Friday! Every single bead you see on the jacket was hand beaded.’ He said in a post on Instagram.

The red three-piece suit had a fully studded jacket and was paired with a black bow tie and silk black shirt. Denola accessorized with gold rings and black earrings.

Although it’s not evident in the images, at the event he drew a black winged eyeliner, and it was every moment and more.

After slaying the carpet, he slayed in his suit set for the after party as well. If it’s one thing Denola will do, it’s not wearing conventional suits and we appreciate it.

He wore a navy blue suit with a really small striped jacket and an elegant net inner and a bumper like short sleeve jacket that completed the jacket’s look.

The piece was designed by Tjwho Universe. This brand is particularly known for its unique twists on conventional suits and the way they play with patterns and the layering of these materials.
