Best Dressed Hollywood Stars At The Academy Museum Gala

It has been an unending battle for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to hold this year’s Academy Museum gala. From the SAG-AFTRA strike that disrupted Hollywood activities to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war that has had the world in a sensitive space, it’s simply not the time for any festivity. However, after deliberating on either cancelling or rescheduling the gala, the Academy finally held the glamorous ceremony on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

The annual gala that raises more than $10 million for museum exhibitions and public programming was attended by Hollywood’s finest, some of whom were honoured for their contributions to cinema and storytelling.

Before the gala kickstarted, the red carpet saw some of the best evening dresses in recent memory. Here’s a list of the best-dressed Hollywood stars at the gala.

Keke Palmer

Keke looked straight out of a Disney film as she was spotted in a Metallic Jacquard ball gown from Monique Lhuillier. The dress from their latest collection was altered to a full-length gown to suit the theme of the Academy Gala.

Addison Rae is now a grown woman, and she never fails to remind us as she wears a raunchy gown from Roberto Cavalli’s Spring Summer 2024 collection. The backless chantilly lace sheath dress embroidered with black feather pattern motifs simply embodies timeless elegance.

Angela Bassett

No one can rock a bold red dress like Angela Bassett can. For the Academy gala, she wore the Schiaparelli hooded dress. The asymmetric dress made of lipstick-red fluid jersey was paired with a satin clutch from Jeffrey Levinson and Jimmy Choo mules.

Kendall Jenner

Kendal Jenner makes the best-dressed list again as she stunned in a red dress from Fendi’s Fall 2023 Couture.

Selena Gomez

Like Kendall, Selena also makes the best-dressed list this year as she moves from the corporate chic look at the last gala to the animated Valentino dress that stood out for its rose neckline.

Rachel Zegler

Rachel’s dress was the talk of the night. It’s not a surprise, considering the fact that she wore a dress from the Vivienne Westwood Couture collection. The draped corseted dress in gold lurex crepe was styled by Sarah Slutsky Tooley.

Danai Gurira

Danai Gurira stunned on the carpet in the Elie Saab Haute Couture dress, paired with a ruffled veil draped across her shoulders. Wayman and Micah styled the actress.
