Top 5 Fashion Moments From ‘Glamour Girls’

The buzz around the remake of the 1994 classic Glamour Girls has been off the hook since its release on June 24, 2022.

From the reviews from fans, its obvious many found the plot of the movie produced by Play Network Studios questionable but praised the acting by some of the cast, like Sharon Ooja, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Joselyn Dumas.

Despite the many knocks the movie has received in the past two weeks, one thing ultimately stood out, the display of glitz and glamour. It was evident that the director wanted us to focus on certain luxury pieces, which were a sight to behold.

From stunning diamond jewellery pieces to luxury bags and gorgeous fashion items, the lead costumiers, Damola Adeyemi and Dami Oke did their thing while incorporating Nigerian designs and designers.

Emmanuella’s Grand Entrance

There were different fashion highlights in this film, but one that stood out the most was Emmanuella’s (Sharon Ooja) transformation into wealth. Her choice of outfit was exquisite. She was dressed in a red jacket, paired with a white crop top and a Christian Dior skirt.

What else screams ‘I’m a bad bit*h’ than a Hermes Birkin bag, a bone straight wig, an Amina Muaddi Begum Glass Heels and a diamond choker necklace?

Tommy and His Suits

One thing synonymous with Tommy and the actor who was cast for his role Taymesan is that they are not afraid to play with colours and body a suit. Boring outfits and Taymesan cannot be in the same sentence.

For a scene in the movie, he wore a sky blue suit from Rhobes collections and paired it with a leopard print scarf as a tie.

Emmanuella’s Boss Lady Outfit

Although the film seemed like they patched scenes together, Emmanuella’s (Sharon Ooja) last outfit was perfect for the development of the film and the scene.

She was in an all-black ensemble from Lady Beelionaire’s luxury collection. The two-piece outfit named the Xavier Suit is from their Bertha Collection SS21. The Exaggerated jug sleeves jacket made it the perfect boss lady outfit for that scene.

The Lulu Slay

Lulu (Toke Makinwa) was one of the girls who worked with Donna (Nse Ikpe-Etim), but beyond that, she was also a fashionista who owned a boutique. Every scene with Lulu is an opportunity to witness a slay.

On multiple occasions, she wore outfits from Lisa Folawiyo’s collections, but the one that stood out the most was the LF Collection’s Yara Jacket. She paired that jacket with an LF beaded bag; it was giving Nigerian and exquisite.

Emmanuella’s Party Outfit

The more money Emmanuella made, the higher her sense of fashion. In one of her numerous party scenes, she wore a two-piece outfit from Ann Usman. The outfit that consisted of a faux feather crop top and a long high slit dress did everything it was supposed to.
