Eight Things You Can Do At Home To Take Care Of Your Mental Health

The past few days have been stressful and scary. It’s bound to take a toll on your mental health, but you must do everything in your power to stay grounded.

These eight things listed below, no matter how weird, will help to make sure that your mental health is strong and stable, and that you come out of this in one piece.

1. Have sex: I know you are wondering how it’s possible to even think about sex right now. Well, it is, and it is important to do this if you can. It will help release a lot of tension from your body, and make you feel more relaxed. If you don’t have anyone to have sex with, masturbate. The results will be the same, and you can thank me later.

2. Exercise: It’s understandable if you’ve not been in the mood to work out so much, but you can always try some yoga. It will help to centre you, and being active will be a good thing for both your mind and your body.

3. Pick a hobby and focus on it: Since you’re stuck at home, you may as well make the best of it, right? Choose something you love to do, like reading, knitting, cooking, cleaning, making videos, etc. And do it till your heart’s content.

4. Forget social media: When you can, log off Twitter, IG, Facebook, and even WhatsApp. If you are going to stay sane, you are going to need to escape all the madness out there by taking a break.

5. Watch a new series: I’d recommend a comedy. You need to laugh away some of the pain these past few days has brought. But you can also start a new series, binge Netflix, catch up on web series. Just make sure, whatever you choose to watch, makes you happy.

6. Pray: There is nothing better than having a one-on-one conversation with God about your feelings. You know he’ll never tell anyone, and he will also give you peace. So talk to God about all your fears in prayers and get all the comfort you can from him.

7. Talk to a Therapist: There are numerous helplines all over social media where you can talk to a professional. It’s important to seek the help of someone who can tell you exactly what to do when you are feeling particularly low.

8. Go Shopping: If all else fails, turn to retail therapy. A couple of new shoes, bags, and clothes and the amazing smell of brand new they have is sure to immediately put a smile on your face.
