Since the conference was founded in 2013, it has served as a platform for discussing challenges, exchanging ideas and finding a strengthened pathway for the Nigerian entertainment industry to thrive.

For the ninth edition themed, “Sustaining The Africa Momentum”, the conference is expanding beyond Nigeria into a pan-African conference and would address continental issues affecting the creative and entertainment industry.

Femi Falodun, the CEO of ID Africa, said, “NECLive9 is bringing together key industry players from across the continent for a much-needed conversation on how to sustain the Africa momentum.”

How to be part of NECLive9.

The conference will hold on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, as it returns in-person for the first time in three years as a hybrid event.

It will blend an in-person event featuring a select number of guests with online participants and a live global broadcast across cable TV, radio and online.

There would be three categories of attendees at NECLive9 – the physical attendance at the Lagos venue which is limited and strictly by invitation, the virtual participants who will live stream the conference via digital platforms, and lastly, viewers or listeners participating via cable TV and radio stations.

What to look out for

Since its first edition in 2013, NECLive has remained the major event for brainstorming, sharing insights, ideas, and solutions to challenges facing the Nigerian entertainment and creative industry.

The conference is expanding into a continental event for the ninth edition. For its first continental edition, NECLive will explore how African creatives and entertainers can use digital media and technology tools to build sustainable economic power for themselves, the industry, and their nations.

It will also curate conversations and discussions focused on the cross-border opportunities available to Africa’s entertainment industry through the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) when it becomes fully operational, as well as global opportunities available within diaspora communities.

As Nigeria prepares for the 2023 general elections, NECLive9 will also delve into the role of creatives and the entertainment industry in nation-building, including how to use entertainment as a vehicle for driving social change on the continent.

The event will also feature live performances by entertainers from across Africa and include product unveilings, brand announcements, and industry tributes.
