Simi Makes Bold Fashion Statement With The Mind’s Hair Creation, ‘Music Tree’

Hair artists and contortionists worldwide have redefined hairstyles to stand for important phenomena while still serving as a form of beautification. Artists like Nikki Nelms, Laetitia Ky, and The Mind are among the numerous artists making a statement with their hair creations on celebrities worldwide, with Simi being the latest addition to musical artistes who have explored this style.

Nigerian musician Simi, in a recent image she shared on her social media pages shared how much music matters to her as she incorporates it into her hairstyle with the help of her stylist, ‘The Mind’.

In the image, Simi represents a musical tree with her hair carrying the musical notes as branches. The treble clef at the centre of the branches was highlighted with cowries to represent her African roots.

Her bra top was made with a black nomadic rope that formed a halter neck tied in style across her waist and paired with a black tulle tied at her side. She accentuated the outfit with black hoop earrings and a black rope wrapped around her hands like a glove.

Speaking to Adeyemi Victoria, the creative director of Vicky’s HairMpire, she opined that a person’s hair speaks so much about them and their values.

“These hairstyles have a lot to say about what a person stands for and want to be known for. In this image, Simi portrays herself as royalty, African and a woman who believes in the power of music. It’s empowering.”
