Six Celebrities That Repped Their Culture In Christmas Colours At The Premiere Of Battle On Buka Street

Celebrities nationwide repped their cultures in style at the premiere of Funke Akindele’s Battle On Buka Street, held on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Battle on Buka Street is a Nigerian comedy-drama film directed by Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde that centres on the rivalry of two women who set up food businesses on the same street.

With the theme of the premiere being ‘repping your culture in Christmas colours’, here are some Nigerian celebrities that understood the assignment.

Iyabo Ojo

The veteran actress stunned in a green and red aso oke combination from a fabric store, Culture Speaks. Iyabo’s dress was designed by Toyin Lawani-Adebayo and she paired the dress with red heels and gold accessories.

Veekee James

Veekee James is usually behind some of the best-dressed celebrities on the red carpet, but she left her regular zone for this event. In a dress designed by her brand, she channelled a modern Efik attire which she accentuated with gold headgear and a staff from Urez Kulture.

Folagade Banks

The skit maker kept it simple yet to theme with his white agbada designed by Jenrewa. The outfit embellished along the neck region with green and red colours was paired with a simple black slip-on and cap to go.

Gbemi Akinlade

Gbemi Akinlade looked all shades of Gen Z and culture in her two-piece set. The actress wore a crop top made of a multicoloured aso oke containing Christmas colours, green and red. She paired the top with a low waist skirt. She accentuated her outfit with silver and pearl pieces of jewellery.

Uti Nwachukwu

The media personality stunned in an agbada set which he paired with black and silver accessories. The green agbada made of aso oke was paired with a red senator underneath and a variation of green and red colours on his cap.

Ruth Kadiri

Ruth Kadiri repped her culture in this green and red outfit combination. The actress who was styled by Okoro Dozie had her outfit designed by her stylist, who paired her Igbo attire with red shoes and a clutch from Purse Stylish.
