Top Five Nigerian Stylists Of 2022

Over the years, Nigerian stylists have stepped up their game as regards styling celebrities for their red carpets and editorial shoots. From a fashion enthusiasts point of view, there has been intentionality as regards designs, the designers behind the looks recommended, and the overall uniqueness of the outfits.

In 2022, stylists have not only done great jobs as costume designers for some of her favourite Nollywood movies in the past year, but they have curated some of the most controversial, viral, and high fashion looks of 2022.

Here are our top five Nigerian stylists of 2022.

Damola Adeyemi

Damola Adeyemi came into the limelight for working on the costume design of the highly acclaimed web series, Skinny Girls In Transit. The cast – Sharon Ooja and Abimbola Craig, always stunned with their outfits every season, a feat that led people to pay attention to the cast style.

In the past year, he has worked with celebrities like Bonang Matheba for her look to the 2022 Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards, Sharon Ooja for all her major red carpet outfits this year, Toke Makinwa, Stephanie Coker, Bisola Aiyeola, Beverly Osu, Taymesan, Adesua Etomi and more. He has also worked on the costume and styling for films like Showmax’s Flawsome, Becoming Abi, Ndani’s Game On, Tunde Kelani’s Ayinla, and Glamour Girls in Collaboration with Dami Oke.

Tiannah Styling

Toyin Lawani-Adebayo is one stylist that goes above and beyond with her styles. In her innovative and creative ways, she has styled some of the most talked about red carpet looks of the year, including Ifu Ennada’s looks to the Ojuju Ball and 2022 AMVCAs. She also styled some of Iyabo Ojo’s iconic premiere looks, from the premiere of King of Thieves, Battle on Buka Street, to her look for The Woman King West African premiere.

Aside from Iyabo Ojo and Ifu Ennada, she also released her Boundaries Collection, a collection with her signature styles and lots of fun outfits.

Medlinboss

The CEO of Medin Couture is particularly known for her suits. She has worked with top personalities in the past year, including Nancy Isime, Funke Akindele, Chioma Ikokwu, Liquorose, Bella Okagbue, and Tacha, among others.

One of her iconic outfits of the year was the Kanuri traditional outfit she styled Chioma Ikokwu in for the Real Housewives of Lagos Reunion in July 2022. She also made a styling statement with Liquorose Afije Xtrabrides Lagos dress, which the reality star was styled in for the Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye Reunion.

Style Territory

When Omowunmi Dada appeared at the Elesin Oba premiere with her colourful high-top headwrap and dress by Somo by Somo, everyone had to see who styled her, and behind that look was Style Territory.

Style Territory is mostly known for her outstanding editorial looks, but she also dabbles into other sides of styling. In 2022, she styled Niniola for the visuals of her single, ‘Want’. She also styled Chidinma Ekile for the visuals of her single, ‘Chukwu Oma.’

Oluwaseun Olopade is a fashion and bridal stylist known for styling personalities like Bimbo Ademoye, Omowunmi Dada, Kiekie, and more. Aside from her ability to style her clients in innovative ways, she always puts them in some of the most unique fashion pieces there is.

One of her most outstanding styling choices was styling Kie Kie in a dress from Valdrin Sahiti. She also styled Omowunmi Dada in a custom mirror dress designed by Somo by Somo that made the actress stand out at the premiere of ‘The Blood Covenant’.
