When we speak of the biggest fashion events in the country, you think of the Lagos Fashion Week, Africa Fashion Week, AMVCA Runway Show – some of the biggest platforms around. But on a special Friday night in Wuse 2, Abuja, something truly stylish happened. Some of the country’s most stylish men gathered to celebrate whisky at its finest and decided to serve all the looks as though they were heading for a runway!
From classic black-tie outfits to custom-made clothes that screamed sophistication, men’s fashion was in full blast at the Tar Tar Restaurant, where a select group of 30 Nigerians celebrated the launch of The Macallan Double Cask 30 YO. One thing that GQ has taught us is that men’s wear is constantly evolving.
Yes, the star of the night was undoubtedly the whisky, but let’s talk about the debonair fashion choices on display.
The Classy Monochrome Look
Adegbe Ogbeh, Business Partner, Paper Hospitality, channelled the modern-day classic man with a double-breasted wine-coloured suit set. He accentuated his outfit with minimal black accessories, comfortable white sneakers and dark sunglasses.
Laid-Back Debonair Look
We love a man who knows how to style a mini bag and Charles Oronsaye, Founder Africana Couture Nigeria, gave us a tip or two on how to slay in one. The founder of Africana Couture Nigeria styled his green single-button suit set with a green mini bag. Then he accessorised his wrists with the Rolex Datejust 36 and cosy Balenciaga mules.
Suave Neutrals
The dress code was black tie and Tosin Okekumata, Manager, Play Network, followed the theme to the letter as he stunned in a cream blazer accessorised with a simple chic enamel rhinestone brooch and pocket square. The rest of the look was completed with classic black dress shoes, black pants and shades to match.
